Many factors constitute for a successful trip like - Plan, Research, Time, Money, Energy, Worthiness, Mode of Transportation, Precautions, Food, Clothes, Shoes, Accessories, Cleanliness, Behaviour etc...
Plan: Planning is important for any trip. So plan things in advance with whom you are planning to go - Solo, Couple, Group, Family.
Research: Before visiting the place it is advisable to do a bit of research about the place and collect info on route, fuel stations, hotels, restaurants, safety, road conditions, accomodations etc.
Time: What time to start, reach, stay, leave and return. Timing according to me also means how is the whether or situation at the place of visit, is it the correct time to visit or not. Is it hot, cold, floods, landslide or raining heavily. It also means any restrictions like Section 144, riots or Curfew etc happening at the place of visit.
Money - Of course no money no trip. Plan on savings for the trip. There should be balance in savings and spending.
Energy - You cant expect to do Bungee Jumping at the age of 60 or climbing a hill when your legs are weak etc.
Worthiness - Do a google search and try to find out if it is worth or not to visit a place. Of course it is your wish to go on a trip and none of my business.
Mode of Transportation - By Bike, Auto, Car, Bus, Train, Ship, Plane...
Precautions - Do a google search and try to find out if need to take any precautions like not getting into water, beware of scams while booking cab etc and many other things...
Food - What food you should try or should you carry your own food and water etc..
Clothes, Shoes, Accessories etc - These are very important, why? because you cannot wear a suit to beach simple as that...Dress for the place you visit same like you dress for the occassion...
Gadgets - Camera, DSLR, Chargers, Torch light...
Cleanliness - Do make a point to collect the trash of yours and dispose it in correct place...
Behaviour - How you behave with others or in the vicinity is important. Dont trouble others. Mind your own business.
