Mettur Dam

Hello Travelers,

After visiting Yercaud, at around 12 PM we left for Mettur Dam since my friend suggested visiting it. 

One can either visit Mettur Dam or Hogenekkal falls, so we decided on Mettur Dam.

Mettur dam is built along the Cauvery river and it is 80 kms from Yercaud. It is at a distance of 200 Kms from Bangalore. A park is built across the Dam similar to KRS Dam in Karnataka but not maintained well. It also has a small fish Aquarium.

We reached by 2:30 PM and had over lunch in Mettur town. From there we proceeded to Mettur Dam park. Every one can visit this dam and spend 1-2 hours. Mostly visited by localities.

Fresh fish with masala applied is ready to be fried or you can take it home and have it fried. Good combo with Rice and Rasam.
