Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary

Hello Travelers,

This blog is about Birds. I visited this place in Jan 2022 but since it was still nesting season so I decided to visit again in March.

A very famous bird sanctuary by the name "Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary" is located in the Mandya district of Karnataka state. It is a Bird lovers paradise. It is located at a distance of 135 Kms approx from Bangalore.

Many migratory birds like Spot billed Pelicans, Painted Storks, Open Bill Storks, Spoon Bill Storks visit this place, nest, breed and go back to come again next year.

You will also be able to see native birds like Cormorants, Darters, Herons, Egrets, Ibis etc...A few crocodiles also exist in the water body.

Facilities like boating is available so you can see the birds and their activities like catching fish and feeding the young ones from a little closer distance.

Best time would be Post Jan till May months.
