Madurai

Hello Travelers,

It is now the month of November and we decided to visit Madurai and Kodaikanal hill station. If time permits we could also visit Palani.

Madurai is located 420 Kms from Bangalore. 

So we started to Madurai at 6:30 AM and by 10 AM we were in Salem. In the out skirts of Salem we stopped at a Hotel to have our Breakfast. There are so many hotels by the name Saravana. So it was one of the Saravana hotels.

Next, we proceeded and reached Madurai by 2:00 AM. The road is superb to drive. No issues at all.

Found a hotel and checked in. Did not have Lunch as we had some fruits and snacks at 12 PM.

We had decided to visit only two places in Madurai - Meenakshi Amman Temple and Tirumalai Nayakar Mahal.

Next, we visited Meenakshi Amman Temple. Photography is not allowed now and we must deposit the mobiles in the counter. But when I had visited in the 2014 I did not face this issue and I was able to take some pics. Took blessings of Goddess Meenakshi Amma and proceeded towards hotel.
