Jakkur Lake

Hello Travelers,

It is weekend today and since it is raining in Bangalore nowadays I didn't want to go out station. So I had heard about Jakkur Lake and wanted to visit it.

The lakes has 3 islands and it was full of birds like Pelicans, Storks, Ibis, Herons, Cormorants, Egrets etc..I wish I could have taken my DSLR to take pictures. May be next time.

The walking trail is well laid and there is a police personnel persent near the entrance. The water is not stinky. Full of trees.

Here are some pics.

See you all soon in my next post. Bye 😎

Turahalli tree park

Hello Travelers,

Since a very long time I was thinking of going to Turahalli forest and explore it after reading about it on the internet.

It's Saturday morning, so I started my bike at 6 AM and reached Turahalli forest by 7 AM. I was disappointed to hear that there is no entry into the forest now since covid started.

I also read about Turahalli tree park adjacent to the forest. So decided to see what is inside the park.

It's a newly built park out of the existing forest area I guess. The walking trail is ok. Some exhibits of birds, animal and insects are present inside park area. A view point is also present. Lots of dogs inside the park.

The entry is free at the moment. Ample parking space is available. Try carrying a DSLR to take bird pics. I heard sound of peacock and tried to find it but couldn't see it. The sound was coming from inside the forest.

Note: Entry into the park is only in the morning and evening.

Benniganahalli Lake

Hello Travelers,

I visited Benniganahalli Lake on Old Madras Road in the evening at 4:30 PM to explore it. Although the lake is good but the path for walking is not good at some places like adjacent to Metro Station this is due to work going on there.

There is no gate for entry rather a small opening is made to the fencing near the temple and we have to bend and enter.

One can see common birds like - Cormorants, Egrets, Herons, Pigeons, Eagle, Crows etc.
