S Agrahara Kere

Hello Travelers,

I am back.... Its Saturday and as usual its time to explore some new place. So after having my lunch I started my bike.

I visited a lake called S Agrahara Kere near Narasapura in Kolar district of Karnataka. It is approx 65 Kms from Bangalore and took me 2 Hours due to traffic in Old Madras Road. This lake has a small dam built long time ago.

It is a beautiful lake and the road is secluded as you are near to the lake. This is not a picnic spot so it is purely for exploration. One can spend around an hour as there is not much to see except to take some photos. Be mindful of your steps near water area.

Note: As you are near the lake please ask locals because google map is not accurate.

Yargol Dam

Hello Travelers,

I am back with a new travel experience. Its Saturday and as usual its time to explore some new place. So after having my lunch I started my bike.

I visited a dam called Yargol Dam in Kamasamudram in Kolar district of Karnataka. It is approx 80 Kms from Bangalore and took me 2.5 Hours. It is still under construction and I saw most of the construction work is completed. I guess the inauguration will happen soon.

It is a beautiful dam and at the moment there is no need of any permission to visit it although it is mentioned as "entry restricted" at the entrance. This is not a picnic spot so it is purely for exploration. One can spend around an hour max as there is not much to see except to take some photos.

I reached the dam via Sarjapur route. The route is scenic especially the last 30-40 Kms where you can enjoy the ride/drive and see Farms, Hills and Forest area through the Journey. Beware of Ghat road and Hair pin bends at some parts. Although the dam is in Karnataka you will pass through Tamil Nadu. Just follow Google maps and you should reach with out any hassle.

Try carrying a DSLR as I saw peafowl and few other beautiful birds on the way.
